Your Teacher

My name is Sarlota Hannis-Zentai and from a young age I have known I wanted to work with people. I hold a B.A. in teaching and started out as a teacher of English to children, teenagers and adults whom I was preparing for the Cambridge exams (FCE, CAE and CPE). I taught both groups and gave individual lessons, always focusing on the needs of the learner and adapting my teaching style to suit both reflective and more extrovert ones.

After five years as a teacher I changed my career and became an English translator and interpreter with the United Nations. I did written translations and simultaneous interpreting in court. Having done that work for 15 years I realised I had to get back to teaching because it was my calling in life.

I enrolled and successfully completed a Cambridge University teacher-training course (CELTA) and since recently I have been working as an English teacher again, teaching children and adults from levels A1-C1.

What I offer

Customised English lessons at competitive prices for individuals or small groups at a mutually chosen location or via Skype. For general English it is up to the client to decide whether they wish to follow a coursebook or take a looser approach. For the Cambridge exams and IELTS I recommend a coursebooks designed specifically for these exams because they guide you efficiently through the requirements. If you wish to prepare for the United Nations Proficiency exam, there is no official coursebook but I do use reliable sources and offer materials to guide you through the requirements.

Why me

… because every learner is different and I will always strive to adapt my lessons to your own personal needs. … because I am skilled in and qualified for the teaching methodology developed by Cambridge University. … because learning a new language should also be fun, which is why I include in all of my lessons a variety of exercises. … because exams are always stressful and I will help you build up enough self-confidence to reduce this stress level as much as possible.
